Hey Jim! Remind me not to piss you off, K?

Hey Scared, I’m sorry you have some crappy options on docs where you live! I wish you were in CO because I know my doc still has some spaces, and he is wonderful. I agree with Amber that you should keep your new appointment. Try to be as unassuming and humble as possible so as not to set off Dr. Yelly! Hopefully, a better doc will come along soon!

Day 3 no sub- Worst Here or Yet to Come? Your Opinion Wanted

IM,

If I were you, I would look at your attempts to quit Suboxone as practice runs. You’ve learned something each time you stopped Suboxone that you can use to your advantage in the future. If you need to stay on Suboxone for a good while longer, then I think that’s completely fine.

Any way you look at it, I think you’re doing real good.

Keep your head up!!

Thank you. We appreciate the prayers. He ended up back in the ER tonight and was admitted to the psych ward after he became belligerent and threatening. It was scary but they finally saw how bad off he is. We think he was still heavily under the influence and at this point he needs a detox and some mental health support. We are truly having to live one day at a time here.

Hi Lilly it is so wonderful to hear that you found an awesome doctor! Plus, one that says she will help you taper slowly and was able to listen to your story and offer addtional medication for when the time comes to quit. I know the stoned feeling, after stopped subs for 6 days and then starting up again Thursday I also feel stoned when I take it, and then foggy the next day. I also started craving sweets immediately — I ate 3 donuts just today. Plus a big-ass cookie. I am just like you, I get irritable, and then also get scared to not take it. Maybe you are like me and have realized why we want to quit — the tiredness, the irritability, but also realize the bad parts about not having any at all. It is quite the conundrum. It is great that you have a doctor to tell you about these things, and I would love to hear if your fogginess goes away in a few days. The more we can talk about why we want to quit and why we don’t want to quit the easier it will be to continue with recovery.
