Sub and lyrica

Using both shouldn’t pose any problems and there are side effects on almost all medications. I asked my Dr. for Lyrica and he gave me Gabapentin, which is generic for Neurontin. Both meds help with nerve pain. The Gaba I have had no problem with. It won’t hurt to try.

I wish you well on your quest to kill the pain.

Thanks for the info PAX,

I might ask my doctor about it. My insurance usually covers somewhere around 75% of any name brand medications that don’t have a generic available. It’s worth checking into anyway.

@Amy…Hell yea! Big brass ones, I can coordinate them with my outfit and they would make a nice little clang when I walk. Now we just have to convince Romeo that I need them more than he does. Shocked LOLOL

I’m in the same situation, but got around it. My do c said that as long as we had a documented clinical reason for Subutex vs Suboxone, we would be fine. He also makes me do more urine tests than normal, but thats no big deal. So you might ask your doc if he could consider the Subutex if you do more urine tests to confirm that you are not diverting.

Colonoscopy on Versed and Fentanyl?

I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago while on 8mg. /day.
Here’s what I did to make it successful.
I was not to have an anesthestheologist…just stuff to make me GROGGY.
I did a fast taper to 4mg. then took none the morning of the colonoscopy.
I told EVERYONE about my sub. use, prior, however it did not come up until I was in a
hospital smock, freezing, with a needle in my arm.!!!!

Because I told everyone what I had read here., and
Because they were not going to knock me out completely…
The doc. doing the colonoscopy said :
"I think we’ll need to call in an anesthesiologist. to administer Propofal which ‘will knock anyone out’…
This will take 3-4 hours before one (anesthologist)can break away and get to this floor."

I said to the doc. "I’m freezing here, let’s do this. If I feel pain we can stop"
So they wheeled me in.
Here is what they gave me:
Benadryl .50mg IV
Fentanyl .200 mcg. IV
Versed 8 ml IV during the procedure

It went perfect. I was awake the whole time and felt nothing.
