Final Taper Thread – the process…

Hi Everyone – just want to pop in with an update and I’m happy to report I’ve been clean from subs and opiates for 6 months today. It’s been great! It wasn’t hard, it wasn’t painful at all, it just takes time and determination. Anyone can stop and if they put their mind to it.

Staying clean and happy takes work too. I would say every bit as much work as stopping requires. Cravings haven’t been much of an issue for me, it’s been harder just remembering how to keep yourself happy, naturally. Eating right and working out(walking, running, gym, etc) has really helped my mental state of being. You learn to really appreciate that natural endorphin rush again.

It’s hard to say what are PAWS and what are natural feelings, but I think my overall happiness and well being have continued to improve through this first 6 months. Around month 4/5 I started to actually get use to living without opiates and I think things are still improving.

Good luck to everyone out there!

First time withdrawing, need advice please!

Hey Brian, I hope the withdrawals are going good and you’re fighting through them! I agree with Qhorsegal and Romeo in the first couple of replies. Those OTC meds and prescriptions can really help. Also, as you know the withdrawals can seem to last forever if you’re constantly thinking about them. So I suggest trying to get your mind occupied with something else. Anything you enjoy that you can focus on. Video games, puzzles, scary movies, reading a book, or anything else that takes your mind off of it. Another way to feel better is with a hot bath or shower, as well as some sex or masterbation or both! Excercise and eating healthy will help your body heal too.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Life with a mouth full of Subliva

I think most doctors test monthly because mine always tells me if he didn’t drug test me and was audited he could get into trouble. More recently I have come to think that he drug tests all of his patients to develop more revenue. He used to have us do a drug test once every 2 months at an unaffiliated lab, but he now does them in his office to bring in more money. Although this is my speculation I hope there aren’t too many others who have doctors like this.

Does anyone else get somewhat of a numb tongue from having the subliva in their mouth?

Krikit, I laughed when i read, "It really sucks not being able to talk to them, get on to them, stop them from doing something they shouldn’t." I can just imagine how that goes.

No problem qhorse..honest mistake that anyone could make

malsmith, you asked if it was bad to take two at a time, well it shouldnt be if thats what os prescribe to you, but then you also said your stomach is inflamed. Tylenol and other things can be pretty rough on the stomach. IDK if maybe your doctor overlooked thay when he prescribed it to you, and if so then maybe this giy shouldnt even be a doctor. Im not trying to scare you or anything, but maybe you should remind your doctor of the fact that your stomach is inflamed, or get a second opinion. R62 is right maybe you can try a pain management clinic and they can guide you in the right direction for your pain relief. If you have stomach issues maybe a transdermal delivery system would be a better option, like the butrans patch that was mentioned or something that is a full agonist like fentanyl(sp)

I do not have children, but i can imagine it must be tough to go through wd and trying to take care of kids. Hell wd is tough enough without kids. I know you dont like to see your friend go back and fourth like that, addiction is not pretty. I hope your friend gets the help she needs!

All the symptoms your having are most likely wd, immodium can really help with the stomach upset.

Let us know how it goes and, i hope you feel better soon hun!!

I’m so sorry I chose your thread to air my frustration. I didn’t mean to single this one out.

I’m just glad you at least see where I am coming from and gave me some great advice. I tend to let them stupid shit get to me because it’s like I bust my ass to keep my doctor happy and others just lie about it. There are tons of consequences but very little rewards. Like. I said we should be spilt up into groups based on actual recovery… Not just time away from drugs or time you’ve figured out to beat a drug screen. Just frustrated. You’re right.

So. I’m just going to try and focus on ME and my friends that take this stuff correctly and want to change their lives for the better…. One other person lol…. But at least I can try to let go of this other stuff.

My clinic had 3 levels. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced. All based strictly on "clean time". What could I present to them to make this system better? How could we weed out the fakers? Or. What rewards could be put into place?
