I’ve seen tools like this before and the only problem I have with them is that they never fully account for exact absorption and half life because everyone’s absorption and half life will be slightly different to grossly different. These tools can get you in the "ballpark", but you would really need to have your serum levels checked daily for a truly accurate representation of how much Suboxone is in your system.

The best way I have found to guarantee you’re getting less and less Suboxone in your system is to take less and less Suboxone…..works everytime. Very Happy

Thanks guys s much for your reaponses. I feel much better about the stopping subs situation. I have no plan on stopping anytime in the near future, but I figure it will have to happen someday.

I think one of the reasons people always think suboxone is way worse than short acting opiates is because they have made it over a year clean after atopping subs and maybe they didn’t have that much clean time after ever stopping their DOC? Just a thought.

Another reason also is because maybe they have forgotten what real withdrawal is like. While in addiction we go through withdrawal on a regular basis. Whenever we either ran out of drugs or money to buy the drugs, or maybe you ended up in jail. Hell there was a point in time where I woke up every morning in withdrawal. So I think our bodies in some way got used to withdrawal. Then comes suboxone and we spend years never even experiencing a minute of withdrawal. Maybe we just aren’t as prepared or it as we used to be. Once again just a thought.

Hey TJS,

I’m sorry I didn’t see your post sooner…I would have commented. It sounds like you are doing great! I love reading this kind of post because I am so close to taking the jump myself. It helps so much to see people who are succeeding!

So you think the worst of your physical WD is over? I am tapering now, I plan on going as low as my Doctor will let me. I’m currently at 1mg, been here for about a month. I think I’m going to stay here a little bit longer because I’m still kind of adjusting to this dose. I just recently switched from once daily dosing to split dosing and it seems to be better. I guess either way has it’s drawbacks so I’m going to keep on with split doses until I see that it’s not helping to hold me over.

It’s an exciting and worrisome time, I’m sure you know what I mean. Thank you for posting your experience, it really is helpful to some of us out here… Very Happy I hope you keep posting your progress!

Hi BrighterDays,

Welcome back! I am so glad you got over feeling embarassed and came back to the forum. Just because you had a hard time with your taper doesn’t mean you can’t be of help to someone else. I have had so many ups and downs during my taper it’s crazy. I joined here last year when I first started my treatment and once I got comfortable I quit coming. Now that I’m tapering I’m back and have learned just as much this time around as I did when I was here at the beginning. There are so many knowledgeable people here that really want to help…I’m sure you know that already though. So we can do this together! Just so you know, I’m down to 1mg now. It’s been tough but I’m making it, and I know when I get through it I am going to be such a strong person nobody will ever stop me from doing anything again! I think the struggle makes it even more precious.

I’m sorry I can’t help you with your side effects, but I bet someone will be able to give you some advice on it soon. As for the tips for tapering…I would recommend eating healthier, take a good daily vitamin and maybe some b-12 or b-complex. And I am hearing everyone saying excersize, excersize, excersize. I have been hit and miss at that, but I am planning on getting a routine going shortly. My doctor recommended yoga to me the other day. I think that might be a good fit to start with, then maybe work up to something higher impact from there. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

Glad you came back… keep posting!
