I tapered down to .75 for a week, .5 for 3 days, then .3 for 2 days, and then on the last day did probably a total of 1 mg (oops). I’m guessing there was quite a bit of sub in my blood. It’s day 3… and it’s totally fine! I mean, besides the sneezing, terrible gas, goose bumps, hot/cold/hot/cold, decreased strength, and only a few hours of sleep at night. Ahhh that’s nothing! I mean, I can walk… I can get on the computer… I can exercise. I’ve got some *bathroom issues* but I’m eating normal — actually, way more than normal — it’s how I get back to sleep at night. But because of that — Has it not hit me yet?? I hear that day 3 is usually as bad is it will get, and then maybe days 4-6 are like day 3, and then it gets better. Am I kidding myself? Is it going to slap me in the ass in a few days?

Well, all opinions are welcomed!

generic bupe/naloxone

Probuphine – the Titan implant – has been given priority review status from the FDA, meaning we could see implants being prescribed in October … at least in the US. I’ve been following the implants pretty closely because living with an implant would make my life a lot easier. I’m in a country where my Suboxone is dispensed from the pharmacy on a daily basis, until I got "privileges" to get take-away doses (up to 5 per week). So I have to go to the pharmacy twice a week at least. The implant would remove that need entirely, would mean I wouldn’t need that yucky gunk in my mouth for up to 45 minutes twice a day, and it’d provide stable levels of bupe in the bloodstream over 24 hours which would pretty much stop my rapid metabolism issues.

I think they propose to use Subutex / Suboxone in conjunction with the implant to work out dose leveling. ie if a person gets the implant and finds they’re still getting cravings, and requires doses of Suboxone to supplement the implant, they can go and get another implant chucked in. But overall there’d only be 3 levels of dose – 1, 2, or 3 implants at a time. Also having a stable level of buprenorphine in the blood means no opportunity to use other opioids and get any effect, esp for fast metabolisers of Sub.

Liquid Taper Questions

Good for you…yes, you math sounds right.

If I was to make a suggestion, I would say to get yourself a very small 1ml measuring dropper with markings in .1ml increments(most pharmacy carry them behind the counter if you ask). I preferred putting less liquid under my tongue. 2ml seems like a lot for one time? I wouldn’t put more than .3-.4ml under my tongue at a time, since the more liquid I had in my mouth the harder it was to keep from swallowing and under my tongue. Plus, you can really dial in a small dose with a smaller dropper.

Also, if you’re in a time crunch you may be able to go a little faster. I dropped my dose about every 6-7days without much trouble, but I was also dropping in small increments .1mg – .05mg at a time. Let us know if you have any questions. Keep it up, it’s not that bad….
