Jumped without a parachute…. Didn’t even count to 3..

I meant to mention the music thing in my last post, but forgot. MANY of us who have quit Suboxone talk about really getting into our music again. For me, music sounded more powerful, more alive. Another thing that came back for me was my sex drive….it came a roarin’ back!!!

Yeah, the sneezing….that’s an interesting one. Most all of us have reported similar symptoms after quitting. I can’t explain it. I remember getting a "funky" smell stuck in my nose during most of my wd and I just figured my nose was protesting and trying to sneeze it out?

You’re at day 8, that’s AWESOME!!! Most people report that their acute wd peaks around day 7 or 8, then it starts improving. You should be over the worst of it, or very close.

As far as going out tonight, why not? It’ll keep your brain occupied thus keeping some of your focus off of your wd. I know you’re tired, but you gotta keep pushing yourself forward and getting back into the groove of life.

BTW, I think you should pick up a good multi vitamin. I started taking one a week before my wd. During my wd, my eating habits went to shit and I needed that vitamin to keep my nutrients up. Just a thought for ya.

Now, go forth and kick some ass you warrior!!!

I am so ready

Hi Island Irish Lady (ain’t no way I’m calling you a witch!! Laughing ),

Welcome to the forum!

I think you may be referring to "opioid-induced hyperalgesia." Hyperalgesia is basically an increased sensitivity to pain. Wikipedia has a good explanation, here’s the link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opioid-induced_hyperalgesia

I remember before I got on Suboxone, I was very concerned about my pain being treated adequately with Suboxone. Suboxone treated my pain just fine.

BTW, I’m 99% sure that I suffered from opioid-induced hyperalgesia because it wasn’t until I got off all pain meds and quit Suboxone that my pain really went away. If I suffer pain from my injuries nowadays, I pop a couple of Advil and I’m good to go.

Pharmacy mistake!

Thats great to hear Jen. It’s nice that you have built up such a good relationship with your pharmacist. I had to switch recently because My last one refused to fill my suboxone scrip at the same time as my clonodine (???). He said it was a deadly mix, subs and a benzo. I said that he was probably thinking of Klonopin which I used to be prescribed years ago, but he was just being a dick and we got into it …anyways it’s nice to hear that not all Pharmacists loo at us as junkies looking to "come up" whenever and wherever we can. Best of luck to you with your recovery

?Anyone else at .25mg? Just split my dose into 2 X daily

Thanks Rome & No, I do not have an issue w// booze. I dont drink often and certainly when I do, I know when to stop. I will FOR SURE stay away from those pill poppers. I personally get sick when I take them so it is not like I don’t want to be around it becuase of that. I really do not enjoy being around those girls anymore. They are so annoying, the idle chatter, the OCD, the fidggiting and getting sidetracked. I just can not tolerate it anymore. So "OFF whit their heads!" Lol I would never be able to be aroung anyone who uses H because well, that’s a no brainer. I would be far too tempted and why tempt fate. Luckily I do not know anyone (except the cousin & I can not tolerate her ONE bit) that uses. I feel pretty safe at the moment. This is why I do NOT go to NA or AA type of meetings. I would attract the biggest looser in there and the rest would be history. ANyway it is getting close to the time where I am gonna be getting off this med. I could easily do it now no doubt. Especially reading about the fella who just jumped w/o a parachute. He sure has a great attitude. Thanks again you guys for always responding and keeping it real.. Have a GREAT weekend!

Hey Amber I hear you about never wanting to take pain meds again! Me either for that matter I have had many surgeries in the past and I’ve put off a few in the last 4yrs since I’ve been on sub! Good luck to you with staying on the program you are now with subs. The 1st year I was on em I paid out of pocket and they were expensive especially like you I was taking 3 8s a day. So hopefully you will stay on that program if possible. Anyway thanks for the replies it’s been very helpful to have someone "listen" and give feedback! Take care and hope to "talk" again.

Why can’t I gain weight??

Hey everyone I’m new on here. A little bit of background on me. I’m 20 years old, played football and ran track since freshman year of high school. Now I have used since I was 13 and my drug habit got really bad when I was 17 and moved out of my house. My question is how could I use all through high school and still maintain a weight of 175? I was one of the strongest guys on my team. Now I’m 20 and weigh 150-155 and cannot gain my weight back. I’ve been on subutex for 4 months (officially) but actually have used them for almost 8. Has anyone else had a problem with gaining weight and muscle back after your opiate addiction? It’s just so embarrassing looking like a skeleton with sunken cheek bones and being absolutely exhausted from very little physical work. If anyone else could give me some advice on some supplements to get my body back to the way it was before 3 Years of heroin abuse?

Suboxone Versus Subutex???? Depression????

That sucks man. I feel sorry that your doc is such an ass. I had a real bad problem with the rash on my torso. I went in told my doc, showed him the pills I had left and he wrote me a script of subutex on the spot no questions asked,so in my opinion pay the extra 50 bucks or whatever and find a doctor that will respect you as a person and as an addict. I mean hell I’m 20 years old and he has never made me feel like I couldn’t be trusted. His point of view is if you were gonna abuse subutex you would just go back to the good drugs, not the ones that just make ya feel normal. Best of luck to you man.

Hi and welcome! It sounds like you’re dose could be too high. I also take sub for pain and take 8mg in the am and then 4mg around lunch and if I am having a bad pain day will take another 4mg late afternoon. If it were me I would try dosing less and see if it helps with your symptoms.

When using sub for pain Dr. Junig suggests split dosing. Sub only provides pain relief for around 6 hours so taking one big dose would not help and with the long half life likely wouldn’t help your side effects either.

I hope you find the right dose for you, it is very individual and can take a few tries before you find your magic number.

Sub Film Breaking in Packaging…Anyone Else?

Yes, I have had the same thing happen to me for months now. It is so irritating that we are paying so much for a medication and it’s not right. When it first started occurring I took them back to the pharmacy even the pharmacist thought I was ripping them when I was opening them. It started with a few ripped ones, and then became them all being ripped. I even tried getting the tablets, but the tablets just weren’t for me, even if the films were ripped. Just recently I’ll get some that aren’t ripped which is great because I put two strips in my mouth at the same time and it works best when i don’t have little pieces everywhere. I’m somewhat surprised you’re seeing this now more than ever. I was starting to think it was fixed, but apparently they aren’t. This problem has been going on way too long now and I hope it gets addressed as soon as possible.

Looking for a doctor around the Morgantown wv area!

I’ve been driving 2 1/2 hours to see my doctor in PA. I would love to find a doctor that can prescribe me subutex that is a little closer to home. I am extremely allergic to the suboxone ( I guess it’s the flavor or naxalone) but I get terrible rashes and can’t breathe. It is listed as an allergy on my medical records so it shouldn’t be the end of the works for a doc to let me have them. If anyone knows of a doctor around my area please let me know
