Well,,,,,,
heres the next chaphter,,,,,,
I thought all day about almost every post on here today…..

this dude’s wife works there in town at a dog grooming place…..(.Only like 12 hours a week) I had to run to the lumberyard about 10 this morning, and I was thinking and thinking while I was driving.

I drove past the dog groomers, and her car was there. I just kept going, and then I was REALLY thinking

after I got done with my work stuff, I stopped there on the way back……
and asked if I could talk to her for a minute……
she’s always been nice to me, and we used to ‘deal’ alot with each other a long time ago…..

So I dont really have $200 right now, and I explained that to her, I told her that this was REALLY stressing me out, and I really didnt know what else to do,
but I told her if she gave this $40 I had today to the gorrilla, that Id stop by and give HER some money every time that I could,
AS LONG as I had ABSOLUTELY NO MORE ‘encounters’ from her husband, or brother or anybody else for that matter….

She seemed fine with it, I even gave her a pack of smokes, cuz she was out. she thought he would take the deal just fine, and Im sure she does have some kind of influence on him.
I hope so anyways.

I thought this MIGHT give me some ‘insurance’ to see if he really will leave me alone. without just blowing $200 rite outta the gate. maybe I’ll just give her a hundred overall. I dont know yet. but yeah, IM THAT tired of the guy.

and Im sure if I DID do something, he’d put some kinda price on my head or steal my car or my tools out of it or some shit. I was thinking, this MIGHT, MIGHT just WORK….

Scared. 59 years old. addicted to valium and vicodin

Hi Mary,

I am also addicted to pills. I just wanted to give you some encouragement and tell you it is not hopeless! You have a few things working in your favor. First, you are on a fairly low dose of hydrocodone. Many people who come here are taking much more than what you are taking, and do quite well on suboxone. I’m not saying you should be on suboxone, but if you decide to go that route there is every reason to believe it would work very well for you!

Second, regarding the valium, you are taking a small – medium dose of valium. It is good that you are taking valium. Valium has one of the longest half-lives of any of the benzos. This is important because as you taper down you will not be exposed to the tremendous peaks and valleys of the shorter acting benzos – xanax being the worst. In fact, there is a clinic in England that uses valium to detox patients who are addicted to the short acting benzos like xanax. They have been detoxing benzo-addicted patients for decades, and know what works. It was started by Professor Heather Ashton, who wrote The Ashton Manual, which in my opinion is the best resource for everything benzo. I believe the more you read the less scared you will be, and you will see that you can beat this!

Third, it is my humble opinion that there are no "lost causes" and everyone has it in them to fight back and get their lives back. Yes it seems difficult if not impossible now but that is because you are tapering and depression is a known side effect of opiate and benzo withdrawal.

Best of luck to you, I know you can do it.

Reraise, have you told your sub Dr about your prostate problems? If you haven’t it could clear up the problem so you are not getting the whispers. Also you can request that they draw blood instead.

I have issues starting to urinate as well on sub. Sometimes it takes a bit to get going. I would have this problem on Oxy as well, the more I took the harder it was to pee. It was far worse on oxy then it is on sub. There were times on oxy when I couldn’t go at all. I am always able to go since starting sub, it just takes longer to get going.

Suboxone and Low Testosterone

I too had the problem until my doctor prescribed the Androgel and I reduced my Sub to 4mgs. Then I was like a teenager for two weeks until I evened out. Thought I was going through puberty again!

For me it was really just getting testosterone treatment and now I’m okie dokie.

Tapering: Cutting off .25 milligrams every 2 wks or so?

stephent, below 1.5 I made my reductions by .25mg, and stayed there for thirty days each. You can adapt to the physical symptoms usually within 7-10 days, but it takes longer for the brain to adjust to the new levels, that’s the reason for the thirty day reductions. The most important thing though is to listen to your body, and not go to fast. The longer you stay at a given dose reduction, the more Sub that’s stacked up in your system will be eliminated. For me it was when I got below 1.mg that the reductions got tougher, doable, but tougher. My last reduction was to .25mg and I stayed there for thirty days before my jump. The longer reductions paid off for me big time, days 3&4 were the worst, but still only felt like a cold coming on. By day 5 the fog had lifted and I felt like a new person, there were still days beyond that I would tire in the afternoons, and some sleep issues remained, but the worst of it was over.

My Dr. rx’d me for some Clonidine and Ambien to help to help with the sleep issues and some Ativan for the anxiety, but I only needed them for the first few days. Good luck with your taper and remember it’s a journey, not a race. However you do it I wish you well, this is just the way that worked best for me. Hopefully other’s will chime in here with more ideas for you.

THE ABOVE LINK IS A WONDERFUL FULLY INFORMATIVE BROCHURE ON EXPLAINING DRUG/OPOID ADDICTION AND SUBOXONE TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT ARE NOT ADDICTS THEMSELVES. Just clink on the link and it should take you right there.

http://www.benzobuddies.org/benzodiazepine-information
This is a very fact filled site about benzos and withdrawals and tapers. Plus it is a support site for benzo Abuse where you can login and talk to others in your shoes. I have never been on the forum but I love the site for information. Just clink on the link and it should take you right there.

In educating yourself you may find you need to educate your family. Be real careful with those benzo withdrawals. I myself was forced by my family to go cold turkey 20 years ago and I about died. My family waited to have me seen after I started having seizures and I was taking about 7 to 8 1 mg xanax. I had tapered myself to there in over a year. I was up to around 24 or so a day in the beginning of my detox. I got down to 7 and I could not get no lower so my mom stepped in. The Doctor saw me in his office heard from me and my family about the cold turkey and he let my mother have it. He placed me in a detox facility where I stayed 40 days. I was very sick coming off the 7 a day. It took me another 6 months after the 40 days to get myself functionable. Tell your family they are really putting you in harms was with such a quick detox on those benzos.

I think you should do the opiates and then the benzos but if you gotta do both you gotta do the benzo slower Mary. Please have yoir family go over these three links I have set above for you.

Doctor sent urine to lab, Cigna billing me $974.70

I wouldn’t go and call this a typo without knowing, it’s VERY possible the charges are accurate…

The charges I incur for my urinalysis are right around $400…

My doctor doesn’t just do a drug screen though.

Here’s likely what they did to you — they tested your urine to make sure the suboxone is being filtered out properly by your liver. Most all Doctors will do this at some point during your visits to them, usually 2-3 times a year. They have to make sure you’re filtering out the stuff properly, and to be quite honest, there is a drug test they can do that tells them the amount of suboxone in your system at the time of testing, so they can tell if you’re taking the amount you’re prescribed or not. Almost down to the exact dose, just by doing the UA test.

I recently got a bill from the company that does it, $496 but that was before insurance…after BCBS paid, I owed them nothing. But this is probably some lab that doesn’t consider itself an "in-network" provider..there are labs coming along that don’t accept the "reasonable and customary charges" and they want to get a boatload of money from their doctors that use them….so they are "out-of-network."

Jumped at ~6 mg / day…

The really crazy thing is that even though I still feel kind of run down, last night was the first night I jammed out on guitar in years.

That never made much sense to me. Heroin always seemed to be the rockstar drug. Yet all opioids, Suboxone included, numbed my appreciation of music more than anything. Then in detox when the floodgates open, the creativity flares up again.

Getting back into my music like before is something I really look forward to when I reduce my dose further, and (touch wood) jump off.
