Hi trailchick,
I think your Doctor is trying to err on the side of caution by having you be in wd for so long, but it’s really not necessary to be in wd that long, in my opinion.
Besides, if he does your induction in his office, he would be starting you out on a low dose of Suboxone to minimize any precipitated withdrawal that may occur.
From the meds you’ve listed, MS Contin and Hydrocodone, you don’t have to be in wd for 48 hours?
Have you ever run out of your meds before?? Do you start to feel wd symptoms fairly quickly if you have run out before?? If you’ve felt wd symptoms fairly quickly after running out of your meds before, then I’m gonna say a 24 hour waiting period would be plenty. I waited 24 hours before I started Suboxone and it was plenty of time.
Like the others have said, I am NOT A DOCTOR. Everything I wrote is just my personal experience and my advice to you.
Good luck to you and if you think it’ll help, post like a madman (woman!!) leading up to your wd, during your wd or even once you get on Suboxone. Do whatever it is that you think will help you!!
