Sub and Sleep Paralysis

I never experienced sleep paralysis before taking subs – Even on as much oxy I took. I first experienced it about 6 months ago (I’ve been on subs for 8 months). It happened when my son was in the hospital and I was extremely sleep deprived!! I thought I was having a seizure because I knew I was asleep but I couldn’t get myself to wake up! I could feel my body lying there and I kept telling myself to just move SOMETHING to snap out of it. Eventually I was able to wake up. It scared the shit out of me. I didn’t get it again for a month. And since then I’ve gotten it maybe once a month. One time I got SP and felt someone touch me. I thought it was real and when I was eventually able to wake myself up I realized I was in the room alone. But during the paralysis the room looked the same, the TV was on like it was in real life and I felt my girlfriend touch my rib. When I woke up I just watched TV for awhile to snap out of it. I read up on SP and read that people have experienced a feeling like someone is touching them or a dark figure in the room. I don’t have the dark figure thank god. But I think it’s related to lack of sleep. I personally take subs right as I go to sleep. I don’t know why but I feel like it works out better so I don’t have to find a time to take it during the day and not talk to anyone. But subs are opiates and maybe the opiate triggers some people who experience SP to have them more frequently. I would find out what triggers it IF you can locate a trigger and stay away from it. Glad to know some of you out there experience this too.
