Hi.

My name is rob. I live in Germany and I am addicted to heroin since 15 years (with interruptions). I found that interesting videos about suboxone, addiction, withdrawal on youtube and came then to the blog and this forum.
I want to change something in my life again and will withdraw from opiods again in the next weeks.
I took methadone, L-methadone and subutex (subutex is the same as suboxone without nalaxone. I don’t know if it is available in the US, too.) for some years. At this moment I take L-methadone and heroin. I have a leg injury and when I am healthy again I want to do the withdrawal. Until then I will taper down with methadone.
I hope to get some information here which can help with my withdrawal plans.

Greetings,
rob

Hi Rob and welcome to the forum. We are glad to have you here and soon there will be others that reply to your post.
They do have subutex in the US, as I am on it (subutex) 10 mg. daily. I had a 29 yr addiction to hydrocodone and methadone. I have been on subutex for 8 mos. and previously with another doctor for 1 year.

The subutex helped my withdrawal off the opiates so much. …as soon as i dosed I began to feel wonderful and my old self again. …it has been a miracle drug for me keeping me sober. There are other people here who use a 12 step based program AA/NA, addiction counselors, treatment centers and other things to stay sober but those just never worked for me. You mentioned you have pain. I do not have any pain and am taking subutex for addiction purposes only…but many people here on the forum report that the sub also helps their pain as well….others get on methadone.

The reason I like sub is because it is office based and I can just go in and get a monthly script. The methadone, however, involves daily drives to a clinic for dosing until you get some time and trust under your belt…before you are able to get any take homes.

I hope I have answered some of your questions, and whatever you decide to do I wish you all the best of luck with it.

Please keep posting and let us know how you are doing.

Sincerely,
Judy
