Yea despite your sarcasm I would still recommend stint after stint in rehab before committing to a very serious opiat addiction in the name of harm reduction. Yes suboxone has harm reduction going for it depending on who you are. But what im finding and so are plenty of other people is that suboxone is realy a one time decision, sure alot of people do come off it but its those who did so in a timely fashion. People who stay on the stuff long term are developing serios health problems physical and mental, its 100% receptor saturation all the time wile giving you stability it contributes to very serious PAWS and for most Opiat addicts who get clean its those P.A.W.S. that put them back on that roller coaster that you just described with such disgust. I would suggest that you talk to your family about the nature of opiat addiction, it is a chronic disease and despite the few years of stability it can offer suboxone is in the end going go contribute to every problem that it was being taken to alleviate. I am not a fan of religion and hate the idea of it being pushed upon people, I can’t see myself attending one of those types of programs but those faith based programs have such high success rates in the long term and you can get in for free at many of those places. There are also many non-denominational programs that are long term that you can get into for free working is part of how you earn your keep after detoxing…those places realy do have incredible long term results going for them I absolutely think that geting in a good long term program is the best thing an opiat addict can do the but problem is finding good ones, you can spend a fortune on rehab and get nothing but a weird stay at a nice resort that you can’t leave….
