Hey, you’re right, the Addiction Survivors forum is not part of NAABT, my mistake. I thought they were one in the same.
As far as Subsux goes, I can certainly see your point. A lot of what I’ve read over there is hatred directed at Suboxone and I wouldn’t direct any of our members to visit that site. But, the fact remains that there other forums out there that provide very good information for Suboxone patients, or soon to be Suboxone patients, and I don’t understand why we would shy away from mentioning those forums here. If it’s purely about misinformation, well, there’s misinformation on this site that doesn’t always get caught too, it’s pretty much inevitable on any forum….especially a forum with a bunch of addicts. lol |
In response to your query about other sites, I will give you the simplest and most absolute answer that I can…and this is from past experience with being admin on sites that have encountered this…
When you allow members to discuss other forums on a site, there is something that can come up that is commonly referred to as "site wars"…where members of one site join another site and do nothing but stir trouble. Then, members of THAT site join the attacking site and do the same. And if it gets technical enough, then they get "friend" in the hacking community to start using DDoS attacks to take the site down, and it can get pretty ugly..to the point of having site owners that contact law enforcement. I’ve seen this happen, and it’s always just easier to say "no discussing other sites, positive or negative."
That way there’s nothing that a member from the site that’s been mentioned can go back and say "well they are talking about us over there"….and things get twisted from what’s really been said. All of this is just easily avoided by us all remembering to not discuss other forums.
