Hi ann and welcome.

It’s great that you found the lowest, best dose that works for you. Now that you’ve found that, you can sit with that dose for awhile. And even if you are ready to taper off, you could start doing that now, but be prepared to do a long, slow taper.

I’m guessing your doctor just wants the best for you. He gets nothing out of keeping you on maintenance. In fact he’d get more money if he took on a new patient to induce. Try not to assume the worst. You still have time to figure out how long you want to be on it.

As for those extra subs, just hang on to those for your taper. You may need them.

Good luck whatever you decide. If you want to start your taper, we’ll be here to help you. If you choose to stay on for now and decide to start some counseling or addiction therapy or step work in anticipation of getting ready to go off sub, we’ll support you in that as well.

Be well!
