No, TJ. It’s not normal for a father to compete against his son’s success. A good parent and a mature parent want the very best for their kid, and that includes success. A father who does not want his son to eclipse his own success is a narcissist. It may be normal to feel some competition when golfing together, etc, but that shouldn’t extend to general success.
