I would not be suprised that the manufacturer would not test for adverse effects regarding testosterone, because that would not be in their best financial interest. Suboxone does have its value in recovery. But, the fact remains that it is a very strong opiate, and the long term use of opiates can cause many undesirable side effects. This is information that in my opinion is not being given to most suboxone patients. And no, I am not here to slam suboxone or it’s use, long term or otherwise. At the end of the day it is up to each individual to choose what is right for him or her. Hopefully we can do this in an informed manner. I recently began testosterone replacement therapy with injections. My hope is that with my test. levels being brought back up to normal again I will begin to have more strength, energy, etc; and as I begin to feel better I plan to start tapering the suboxone. I am currently at 1/2 8mg 2X per day. I know the good doctor says that my body wont know the difference if i do 1/2 every 24 hrs, maybe it is psychological but I seem to feel better when i do it twice per day, and sometimes I do skip the second dose without much consequence, but I will get there when i get there, I am taking my time though. If anybody out there has had similar experiences, I would love to hear from you. Thanks , B.
