Getting Subutex Prescribed

I have heard many stories of people who go to pain clinics to get Subutex prescribed because its cheaper and covered by their insurance as where going to a Suboxone clinic and getting Suboxone might not be covered. Alot of people do this, I am not the first one that has thought about it.
I just didnt know if a regular physician could write it off label for pain and it could be taken as maintennance for opiate addiction and what would be the harm if someone did that and the doctor agreed? Other than saving someone about 400 bucks a month, I see no problem whatsoever. My doctor which is also my mothers doctor wont write unecessary tests if you dont have insurance even if you need them, now if its a medical emergency that is one thing. If its something that can wait or be put off awhile, he will do so until you can either save up for it or come up with some insurance.
He also does labwork in the back of his office to save patients from going to the hospital to have it done. If you go to the ER, its about 200 bucks upfront. If you do it at his office, its about 40 bucks upfront. We spoke to him back in November about the situation I had at the time, husband was unemployed and that check just wasnt covering everything and I had to stop Suboxone treatment that month. I figured that I could do Tramadol and Klonipin to come off Suboxone, he said if it was monitored that I should be ok but the Sub withdrawal was going to be very strong. He was right, I hadnt even began to taper because we didnt figure there would be a month where I would have to miss treatment.

I should have asked him then if he could do that, but I am guessing he would say no. Once doctors write it and the word gets out that they can write it off label for pain, people would beat the door down around here to get into the office. He has been too good to me and my mother for him to be a shotty doctor. If it hadnt been for him. my mother wouldnt be here today.
