elevated liver enzymes/liver damage on subs

I’ve experienced higher liver enzymes while on Sub … but they definitely weren’t caused by the Sub – I know that for a fact.

I just gotta say that a LOT of medications have warnings about potential liver damage / stress. It’s mostly precautionary. If a medication had the potential to cause liver damage to previously healthy livers, it wouldn’t be on the market. That’s a fact.

The liver warnings on medications are mostly for people with existing liver damage (cirrhosis / fibrosis), or the elderly. I remember talking to my doc about Cymbalta (another med with liver warnings) and he said that he wouldn’t be at all concerned for me given my age and my height / physical health. However when I did have Hep C – that’s when my liver became more sensitive to these medications. EVEN still, any time I drank alcohol, even in moderation, my liver got stressed out more than it did from any of these medications. If anything, ALCOHOL should have big red liver warning stickers on each bottle more than these medications.

It was only when I was HCV+ that my liver enzymes were getting raised from meds – namely Sodium Valproate, Cymbalta and Suboxone. And taking multiple compounded the problem … like – if I had a couple of glasses of wine at dinner I’d be fine. But if I did it while on Sub and Cymbalta while HCV+, I could almost be yellow the next morning.

BTW for those that don’t know, my most recent HCV test was negative… so it’s looking like I’m cured after all.

Update…..I have talked on here before about my husband and I had an isssue that he never wanted to have sex wasnt affectionate blah blah blah……

Well n e ways he just left me and my kids and went to colorado. I live in california. WTF right. Its sucks because I thought we had not intimacy because of the way I looked (stupid me)…. So I went through alot of trouble to lose weight (gained because of two pregnancy) then I had my breasts done and a tummy tuck. I work out everyday keep my skin tan. I cater to what ever he wants and alow him to be a dick fuck face …….

This is the ulitmate betrayl by far for him to do this. I actually KNOW FOR A FACT that there is nothing I’ve done to cause this. there is a lot to the story for sure but I know hes just an idiot that I should have left along time ago you know what I mean. He kind of did me a favor by leaving because I never would have left him;.

I AM SO sorry you are having to go through this…but the main thing i caught was you having to lose wt. to please him.’
I have struggled with my wt. all through my marriage and I know a man wants to be proud of his wife and would really rather us be the right size instead of fat, fat…but my husband never said anyhing about my wt. and when I would lose he would be so proud of me…the main thing he worried about was my health if I got overwt. but when I did go through those "fat" times I felt so bad about me…esp. when we were out with other couples and the other women would be looking so good…but I found you have to love yourself even to lose wt. …and I agree with johathanm…you marry for better or for worse and there will be plenty of for worse in most people’s lives…so feel good about yourself…like yourself…and maybe time will be the best healing thing for you. Please keep us informed on how you are doing.
good luck to you…

Buprenorphine: Less Is More

If you’re feeling stoned from your dose of sub, your dose is far too high.

oclafsti, it sounds like you have a low tolerance to opioids at the moment, a tolerance that would probably require a dose well under the ceiling.

I know how what you’re saying though. When I first went on Sub, I was put on 4mg. Before that I was using heroin maybe once or twice a week? I’d only experienced mild withdrawals. After the sub I was well stoned for a couple of weeks! Did I tell my doctor? No. I was loving it! Ultimately, I paid the price. Within 2-3 weeks the buzz faded and my tolerance went up a LOT. In the end I ended up MORE dependent on opioids than I did before I went on Sub.

Any time our tolerance to opioids goes up, there are lasting changes in the brain, and it becomes harder to live without opioids in the long run. Ultimately you’re only hurting yourself by staying on a dose that’s too high for your needs.

I think we all have went to the methadone clinic at some point. When i went they started me at the low dose like 30 or something ( i cant remember) I didnt like the way it made me feel, I just wanted to sleep. But I kept going for a few days and they were trying to bring me way up on the dose, and I told them I just wanted the low dose because I wanted to quit. I eventually just stopped going ended up back on pills because I didnt like the way I felt.
Jonathan sounds like if you just ignore her text she will stop texting you eventually. lol
